On September 29, 2017 The City of Wetaskwin had a Treaty 6 Flag Raising Ceremony and all four nations Chiefs were in attendance along with Samson Councilors Larron Northwest and Katherine Swampy. This is the first time that the Treaty 6 Flag has flown at
city hall and to commemorate the day school children attended the event. Elder Solomon Bull prayed before the flag was raised and MLA Bruce Hinkley was in attendance as well. Snacks and drinks were available to the visitors after the event.
