This past Alberta Treaty Hockey Championships that took place March 24-27 was a good one for Maskwacis as 7 teams came home with a medal. The U15 female team took silver losing to Enoch in the final, our Senior Novice team took bronze losing to Enoch by a protest. The peewee A Hawks team won gold beating Piikani in the final, Our bantam team took gold as well beating Stoney (Morley) in the B side final. Last but not least our Midget A1 team took gold by spanking Goodfish in the final 6-2, and the junior B hawks are back to back undefeated champions as they beat Saddle Lake in the final by a score of 5-1. It was another great year of treaties for our Maskwacis teams as we dominated in the medal race and we sure did a good job of representing where we are from. Maskwacis breeds some of the finest hockey players and it sure shows every year just how much talent we have and that’s something to be proud of. Congrats to all the young and older athletes for winning their medals and representing our community and hawks colors in a humble manner.
