Our job is to maintain peae and order and to protect our nations members. We are on call 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week. The services we provide are in cooperation with the local authorities: RCMP, Ambulance and Fire Department.

By-Law:

Samson By-Law is part of the Samson Cree Nation Tribal Law and Protection Services. We assist Samson Cree Nation members with By-Law type issues. We deal with animal control, trespassing and trespassers, Peddlers and Fire permits. By-Law also assists Samson Cree Nation Peacekeepers and/or the RCMP if and where possible. We keep Samson Cree Nation members informed of all our by-laws that might be in place for the nation.

Adult and Youth Justice :

Assist in healings with the court system, youth, adult, and family courts. Referral of services such as Legal Aid, Legal Counsel, Duty Counsel and Native Counseling Services of Alberta. The process involves an interview, and the circles are culturally based, and we deal with the underlying issues rather than the charges.

Fine Option and Victim Services :

Fine Option: Provides members of the community the opportunity to complete service hours, rather than being incarcerated or having to remit payment.

Victim Services: Committed to providing support, information, and referrals to Victims of Crime during times of crisis and trauma through our the Justice System Process.

Edmonton Youth Offenders Center Liaison (EYOC):

Working with the Samson Cree Nation youth who are detained at the Edmonton Youth Offenders Center, providing one-on-one couseling and the opportunity to attend sweats and other cultural events.
