Misson Statement Roads
The Public Works Department will strive to provide the Samson Cree Nation Membership with safe roads and driveways, along with other related services and duties. To also carry out these duties in a professional manner as to benefit the Samson Cree Nation.
Mission Statement Waste Management
The Samson Public Works waste management will remove all the waste off the Samson Cree Nation, in a safe and professional manner. This is for the health and safety of our community.
SERVICES PROVIDED
1. Maintaining roads and driveways in the form of grading both winter and summer.
2. Road repairs such as topping roads with clay or fixing areas that are washed out or because of black dirt problems.
3. Replacing culverts that are rusted out or are damaged by the graders or by other types of heavy equipment.
4. Replacing signs that have been vandalized, or that are just worn out due to weather.
5. Brushing along roadways, blind corners, and driveways where they have impaired vision due to small trees or brush.
6. Cutting grass along roads and driveways.
7. Brushing quarter sections with the cat, making fence lines and small burrow pits.
8. Cleaning the streets in the town site and fixing pot holes.
9. Supplying sand, clay, gravel and black dirt to home owners and contractors.
10. Hauling bales, backhoes, tractors and heavy equipment for Farm and Ranch, Contractors and home owners.
11. Removal of all waste from the townsite, country homes and for contractors to West Dried Meat Lake.
12. Hauling wood to wakes, making crosses, digging burial sites, and thawing out the ground in the winter time.
13. Maintaining the three cemeteries such as cutting the grass, trimming trees, fixing the fence and getting rid of small rodents such as gophers.
14. Transporting Elders, Band Members, HBMC Youth, School Children, Employees and Minor Hockey Players to different workshops, games or events.
